The North Face - Crossbody bags

THE NORTH FACE X ARTEFACT UPCYCLING STUDIO

Turning banners into expedition-ready products

The North Face is built on exploration, pushing boundaries, in the mountains and beyond.

Together, we explored how materials from past campaigns could be brought back into motion.

The answer: upcycled products and a workshop with European store managers during their annual sales meeting in Davos, Switzerland.

The challenge

The North Face entrusted us with 120 m² of former advertising banners.

The objective was to transform them into functional, desirable products, aligned with the brand’s standards of quality and durability.

A full 360° collaboration, from design to activation.

  • Design : Collaborative process from brief to prototype, designing products around the constraints and potential of the material
  • Production : Cleaning, cutting and sewing carried out by two local partner workshops supporting professional integration
  • Activation : Official presentation during The North Face’s 80th anniversary in Davos, gathering European retail leaders and live workshop transforming climbing ropes into keychains.

The outcome

  • 150 unique crossbody bags produced from upcycled banners
  • Manufacturing between Nantes and Rennes
  • A memorable workshop for employees, rooted in The North Face’s commitment to bringing circularity to the heart of its DNA
